KMS CineWhoop
thingiverse
This is my take on a CineWhoop. Unlike recent trends that favor lighter and smaller designs, my version is a massive beast. It's designed from scratch with standard 5-inch components in mind. I'm flying mine with a full 30x30 stack. Emax 2205 red bottom 2400 KV motors are paired with 6S batteries for maximum power. The total weight comes in at around 930g, including a 6S 1250mAh battery and a GoPro Hero 8. The frame is totally symmetrical, making it possible to build as a cheater quad with two FPV cams. For props, I'm using HQ 5x4.3x3 V1S cut down to a diameter of 85mm. I'm getting around 5 minutes of flight time with this setup (slow and smooth flying - this thing is not for racing). Key features: ==================== 5-inch prop size cut to 85mm Foam bumper around the ducts for better soft target acceptance. 30.5x30.5 M3 stack size (1 mounting position in the center) 20x20 M2 stack size (2 mounting positions) 16x16 & 19x19 M3 motor mount Required Hardware: ==================== - 8 x 30mm standoffs - 4 x 20mm/30mm standoffs (to hold the outer sides of the TPU ducts) - several M3 screws to mount everything together. Required Carbon Parts: ==================== This should not be 3D printed; they need to be cut from 1.5mm and 2mm CFK. ### 1.5mm CFK: - 1 x sub bottom plate ### 2.0mm CFK: - 1 x bottom plate - 2 x top plates ### 4.0mm CFK: - 4 x arms - 2 x side braces Required Foam Parts: ==================== - 2 x foam bumpers, I cut those of material that's typically used for tool inlays in tool boxes. The material needs to be 40mm high; they are glued to the ducts. Required 3D Prints: ==================== - 2 x ducts can be out of TPU for better durability or out of PETG/ABS/Nylon for better efficiency. Have a look at the Assembled.stp file to see how everything goes together.
