The Fuchsturm - Grünhain - Zollturm (Salzstraße) This tower is the sole remaining structure from the monastery period (1233 - 1536). It was probably built by monks in the second half of the 13th century as a gate within the non-existent boundary of the cloister from its other buildings inside the monastery wall. Access to this area of the monastery was not allowed for secular individuals. Today it is an exhibition room and residence of the Grünhainer Berg- und Krippenverein. G. Stölzel
