Klein bottle sqashed - OpenSCAD

thingiverse

Just another Klein bottle, crafted as a single entity from two distinct components: a handle and a bottle, both hollowed out through the clever application of a difference operation with a smaller part of identical design. The screen shot clearly illustrates where inside and outside are elegantly swapped. To infuse the bottle with a distinctive flair, I leveraged the incredible power of my OpenSCAD nSpline library and my OpenSCAD Naca_sweep library (follow the links to delve into the code's secrets). You can easily customize the call by adjusting the handle radius or experimenting with different definitions for the bottle's exterior and interior, but be sure to avoid self-intersection of the shapes. F5 (~10 sec) and F6 (~4 min) render quickly. Although I haven't yet printed this design, the STL file is rendered with a height of 341mm and a skin of 2mm, so it may require some downsizing for successful printing on a smaller print bed.
