KiwiCo Claw Replacement Jaw
thingiverse
I got my son a KiwiCo crate subscription for his 4th birthday. We had a lot of fun with it, and he's learned a lot about how things work as a result. One of the projects, a grabber claw, was constructed from 3mm plywood. In the hands a young boy growing through the next couple of years, the claw didn't survive. He asked me if I could fix it, and I told him that I'd probably be able to 3d print a replacement part for it. I spent a couple of hours measuring and sketching and finally ended up on this model. The critical dimension is the distance between the screw holes, and the rest didn't really matter as much. After I helped him put it on his claw, I asked if he wanted me to go ahead and print two more to replace the other side. He told me "No, I like it this way!" Hence, the unbalanced view in the pictures.
