Kiwi Pawn v3 - Chess

Kiwi Pawn v3 - Chess

pinshape

A 3D printed Chess piece that takes inspiration from New Zealand's national bird, the Kiwi. It's essential to note that in New Zealand, the term 'Kiwi' refers specifically to the flightless bird, while the fruit is known as Kiwifruit. To make printing this design more accessible, a custom raft has been added to support the beak. After testing, it was discovered that the original beak was too thin and the body consumed excessive PLA filament, leading to significant waste. As a result, a hollow (split) version of the Chess piece was created to optimize material usage.
