This prototype embodies the Challenge: "Music to my ears." It creates an object that generates sound or music with two distinct parameters: "Permanent" and "Design for Them." The box itself features a basic 555 timer toy organ circuit. The top piece of the box is connected to the bottom by a spring, so as the cat moves across it, the top tilts one way and then the other, triggering two tones. By being fixed permanently at the cat door and designed specifically for cats to make sounds as they pass over it, this box is actually made for birds. Its primary purpose is to alert them that the cats are now outside.
