Kitsune is a fox endowed with supernatural powers, chief among them turning or possessing humans. The legend of them originated in China, and then moved with literature to Japan, where it was enriched with original details that made it an independent element of folklore from mere copying of the myth. The basic legend states that the kitsune are messengers of the goddess Inari, who represents fertility and prosperity. The deity descended from heaven on a snow-white fox at the time of the great famine and saved the people. It was at that moment that her messengers, the kitsune, came with her. This leads us to the conclusion that foxes are unequivocally good and kind creatures.
