Kites and Darts

Kites and Darts

thingiverse

Roger Penrose's kites and darts form non-periodic tilings, displaying intricate, non-repeating patterns across the plane. The Golden Ratio is pivotal in these tiles' construction and design, and their ratio approaches the golden number as the limit is reached. When printing, each 1000 darts should be accompanied by 1618 kites. These seven tile arrangements at a vertex have names given by John Conway: sun, star, ace, deuce, jack, queen, king. The circular markings show edge alignments and are interesting enough for separate use. For more details, visit the provided links or enjoy playing with them on your desk or lab bench.
