I'm replacing my faulty kite pump with one that's completely airtight, starting with the piston rod that protrudes from the upper chamber. I've chosen to use flexible filament for this repair. To seal the gap, I carefully slit the ring and slid it onto the rod before securing it in place with a generous amount of glue in the groove. So far, so good – my kite is ready to soar.
