Kite: Slingshot style active stopper ball
thingiverse
The stopper ball, similar to Slingshot's version but with bigger line holes for older bars like Lock N Load, is like kite "cruise control." If functioning correctly, this ball enables users to draw it down and adjust sheeting without straining their arms. However, this untested (unprinted) piece should not be attempted by beginners as failure might compromise safety gear. Upon testing and finding PLA ineffective, nylon may be used instead when temperatures permit. The printed version turned out well, but the ball is too efficient - it doesn't self-release. To release it, one must slightly pull the bar and push the ball up the line manually, making quick sheeting adjustments difficult during gusts.
