Kite Foil

Update 05.07.18 - Added nut protection for front and rear wing - Shortened fuselage; new drawing created A hydrofoil enables kitesurfing in extremely low wind conditions, but unfortunately, they are quite pricey. Therefore, I decided to build one myself. I used an Eppler 817 profile for both wings The wing area is approximately 600cm2 / 200cm2 The mast is a Manta 2 aluminium mast Purchased from https://www.mantafoils.com/e-shop/Manta-aluminum-mast-production-scrap-p59642799 For the fuselage, I chose a 20x20 stainless steel square tube The 3D-Printed wings were covered with gfk; the mast-box is also laminated with gfk Be aware that positive lamination requires a lot of sanding! The board is a North freestyle fish 5'2" The laminated wings are extremely stiff. The mast to board connection with the 3D mast adapter is not as rigid as I wished. Perhaps a laminated mast base plate would be a better choice.
