KitchenAid Tilt Knob/Switch Lock

KitchenAid Tilt Knob/Switch Lock

Some KitchenAid mixers have an issue where the 'tilt lock knob' vibrates to 'open', especially when kneading heavy bread doughs for extended periods. You can attach this swinging lock into the metal branding strip channel, to the right of the tilt knob, with either good double-sided tape or glue (if you choose). The 'tilt lock lock' swings closed and out of the way when not in use, but can be opened to hold the knob in the 'no tilt' configuration. Adhere your 'tilt lock lock' so that the edge of the fork just barely clears the knob while it is swinging open. I've added a fair amount of margin to the hinges etc. and added a small chamfer at the bottom of the swinging piece to prevent elephant foot from sticking the halves together. The hinge (and entire part) is print-in-place. I have printed this with success using a 0.4 nozzle, and 0.2625 layer height (MPSMv2). Skirt only, directly on the build plate. You may want a tiny support pillar between the tines of the 'fork', but you shouldn't need it anywhere else.
