The thumb screw that secures the cover for attachments to our KitchenAid Classic Mixer suddenly broke off one day when I was removing it to install a meat grinder attachment, as shown in the photo. I took on the challenge and designed a replacement screw that closely resembles the original. After researching existing solutions, I found several options but wasn't satisfied with their basic design. So, I decided to create my own. This custom-made thumb screw was printed in PLA at 0.1 mm resolution. To install the new screw, simply heat it up slightly by holding it with pliers and slowly inserting it into the opening. The screw will fit snugly due to its precise dimensions. Once installed, allow the screw to cool down in water or a glass bowl. KitchenAid Part Number: WP9709194
