KitchenAid Mixer Shield - Two Piece
thingiverse
Shield for Kitchen Aid mixers. This innovative design draws inspiration from the classic two-piece shields sold twenty years ago, which provided unparalleled protection around the bowl with their snap-together mechanism. In contrast, today's one-piece shield falls short in this regard. The proposed shield is designed to accommodate 4.5-6 quart mixers, although its compatibility with larger models remains uncertain. To ensure a smooth print, supports should only be generated underneath the lip that comes into contact with the bowl and the hooks joining the two halves together. This can be achieved by configuring the print settings to build supports on the table surface alone, with an angle of 80 degrees. A natural PLA material is recommended for printing, considering its minimal exposure to food products; however, users are free to experiment with other materials. An edit has been added at someone's request, introducing a sheildfull option. Please note that this variant may require removal of the mixing attachment for installation and removal purposes.
