My home's kitchen sink knob started slipping, and the cause was a broken inner gear-like piece that had cracked. I modelled the broken piece in Blender and it works as the original one.A few early iterations either broke with pressure and rotation, or got their teeth quickly ground. I tried printing in vertical, horizontal, tilted, in two parts, with PLA, PETG, PC, and Nylon, but ultimately the longest lasting model is the current one: PCTG, printed vertically with legs on the plate, as a single piece.I believe the reason for PCTG to win is it's really high layer adhesion and resistance to grinding. Many of the other models broke at the top of the legs, or got their teeth ground.
