Kitchen iPad Stand
thingiverse
I crafted this custom stand from scratch specifically for my wife, who frequently uses her iPad in the kitchen to access recipes. Initially, the design featured a prominent F in the center, but I later revised the model to create a more versatile version suitable for general use. The adjustable stand positions the display at a comfortable 60-degree angle, accommodating both taller countertops and my wife's height of 5'8". The ergonomic design ensures optimal viewing experiences. A thoughtful feature is the small hole in the base, which allows a charge cable to pass through, keeping the iPad charged while it's in use. To prevent the stand from sliding on the counter, I applied a protective layer of Plasti-dip to the base. This clever solution has proven highly effective: even when subjected to vigorous testing by attempting to tip the stand over with the tablet still attached, it remained remarkably stable. The entire design process was completed using SketchUp, a powerful CAD software that enabled me to bring my vision to life.
