Kitchen drawer rail mount
thingiverse
A while back my mom's kitchen utensil drawer got into an unfortunate scuffle with a disgruntled person who slammed the drawer shut. This led to the original rail holder snapping. My mom didn't want to replace it, and I wanted to try out modeling, so I took on the challenge of replacing it. I went through several designs and landed on one that reinforced the part that failed slightly, but still functioned properly. The first printed object lasted a year before another run-in with the same disgruntled person broke it in a different spot and damaged the other side. The second time I printed it (and its mirror image neighbor), I added a simple screw plate to absorb some of the impact if this happens again. The gap between the bottom layer and the sacrificial layer is approximately 11mm. The width is 25mm. Behind the part, it sits over a wood bar that measures about 24mm x 9mm. This design is far from perfect, but it has been working in place (including the first breakage) for two years now.
