Interested in kitchen design? Looking to give your kitchen a fresh new look by remodeling but want to see it come alive on more than just a 2D blueprint? Want to create some realistic cabinet models and appliances as toys? Maybe filming a claymation and need some authentic props? You've come to the right place! I used to design kitchens at a big box retailer, where I often thought that having real-life examples of cabinets would have made it much easier for customers to visualize how things fit together spatially. So, I created a series of common cabinet sizes and types that I typically came across when quoting out kitchen jobs. I hope to model some of the more unique cabinet designs. All cabinets were designed at full scale, which means you'll need to shrink them down to print size. I found that scaling back by 5% is a great way to save on materials while still getting useful models printed. The cabinet types and names used in my designs come directly from Schrock's Trademark series specification guide, which can be downloaded here - <a href="https://www.schrock.com/cabinet-information-resources/literature-downloads">Schrock literature</a>. Here are the basics on cabinetry sizes: base cabinets usually measure 24 inches deep and stand at an impressive 34 1/2 inches tall. Typically, a 1 1/2 inch countertop would be added on top to bring it up to 36 inches high. Widths come in increments of three inches, ranging from as narrow as six inches to as wide as forty-eight inches. Wall cabinets have a standard depth of twelve inches and can range in height from twelve inches all the way up to forty-eight inches in increments of three inches. Their widths also vary, ranging from twelve inches up to forty-eight inches, with some specialty units like spice racks that are only six or nine inches wide. Some wall cabinets are double-deep at twenty-four inches deep, but these are usually found above refrigerators.
