As a former kitchen designer at a big-box retailer, I often wished I had some practical examples of cabinets and layouts to help customers visualize their space. That's why I've created this series of common cabinet types and sizes that I regularly encountered during my quoting process. To make these models more useful, all the cabinets are designed on a 1:1 scale, so you'll need to scale them down before printing. I found that scaling them by 5% is the perfect balance between material savings and print quality. The cabinet types and naming conventions used in this collection are based on Schrock's Trademark series specification guide, which can be accessed here. Let's start with some basic cabinetry sizes: base cabinets typically measure 24 inches deep and stand at a standard height of 34 1/2 inches. Adding a 1 1/2-inch countertop brings the total height to 36 inches. Widths range from 6 inches to 48 inches in 3-inch increments. Wall cabinets, on the other hand, have a standard depth of 12 inches and can be as tall as 48 inches in 3-inch increments. Their widths also vary from 12 inches up to 48 inches, although some specialty units may be narrower at 6 or 9 inches. Some wall cabinets are designed with double-depth layouts at 24 inches deep, often placed above refrigerators.
