Kitchen Cabinet Series - Base

Interested in kitchen design? Want to see it more than just a 3D CAD rendering? Need realistic props for claymation filming? You've come to the right place! I used to work designing kitchens at a big-box retailer, and I thought creating props or examples of cabinets would be super helpful for customers understanding spatial arrangements. So, I created a series of common cabinets and sizes that I typically saw when quoting out kitchens. My goal is to model some more obscure cabinet types too. All the cabinets were made 1:1 scale, meaning you'll need to shrink them down to print. I found that 5% scaling works best for saving materials while still getting useful models printed. Cabinet types and names are taken from Schrock's Trademark series specification guide, which can be found here - Schrock literature. Here are the basics of cabinetry sizes: base cabinets have a standard depth of 24 inches and are 34.5 inches tall. A typical 1.5-inch countertop goes on top, making it 36 inches tall. Widths come in 3-inch increments, ranging from 6 to 48 inches. Wall cabinets have a standard depth of 12 inches and can be anywhere from 12 to 48 inches tall in 3-inch increments. Widths also vary from 12 to 48 inches, with some specialty spice rack units that are 6 or 9 inches wide. Some wall cabinets are double-depth at 24 inches deep, usually above a refrigerator.
