Kitchen Cabinet Series - Appliances

Interested in kitchen design? Looking to remodel a kitchen but want to see it beyond the limits of a 3D CAD rendering? Want to create some cabinets and appliances as toys or film a claymation that requires realistic props? You've found your perfect match! I used to work designing kitchens at a big box retailer, where I realized that what would have been incredibly useful were props or examples of cabinets to help customers understand spatially how things are arranged. That's why I created a series of common cabinets and sizes that I typically saw when quoting out kitchens. My goal is to model some of the more unusual cabinet types. All the cabinets you'll find here are 1:1 scale, which means you will need to scale them down to print them. After experimenting with different scaling options, I found that a 5% reduction yields the perfect balance between material savings and useful printed models. The cabinet types and naming convention used are based on Schrock's Trademark series specification guide, available for download here - <https://www.schrock.com/cabinet-information-resources/literature-downloads>. When it comes to cabinetry basics, standard sizes come into play. Base cabinets typically have a depth of 24 inches and stand at 34 1/2 inches tall. Adding a 1 1/2 inch countertop brings the height up to 36 inches. Widths can range from 6 inches, in 3-inch increments, all the way to 48 inches. Wall cabinets usually have a standard depth of 12 inches and come in various heights between 12 and 48 inches, with each increment being 3 inches apart. Width options also vary from 12 to 48 inches, although some specialty units like spice racks can be as narrow as 6 or 9 inches. Double-depth wall cabinets are typically found above refrigerators, measuring 24 inches deep. Remember that standard appliance sizes include a dishwasher at 24 inches wide, a range/oven at 30 inches, and a fridge at 36 inches. A sink base is also usually 36 inches wide.
