Kitchen Cabinet Glass Clip

My nephew recently had new cabinets installed, but the contractor made a crucial mistake - he neglected to use the clips that came with the glass cabinet doors. Instead, he opted for nails and glue, resulting in an unappealing finish. Undeterred, I took matters into my own hands by visiting Lowes and Home Depot in search of replacements. To my dismay, neither store was willing to part with the necessary clips. So, I decided to take a different approach - I measured up the existing clips, created accurate models, and 3D printed a set. The result is a seamless fit that looks like it was made by the manufacturer itself. When printing the clips, I employed a simple yet effective technique: I placed the large flat side down on the build plate, eliminating the need for any supports or rafts. To add an extra layer of durability, I opted for 20% infill in PLA and PETG. Interestingly, my experiment yielded surprising results - the PETG-printed clips were significantly stronger than their PLA counterparts. What's more, the clear PETG version possessed a remarkable resemblance to the molded part, making it nearly indistinguishable from the original.
