Kitchen Aid's FGA Meat Grinder Has a Well-Known Issue Where It Produces a "Gray Goo" As It Grinds Meat, Caused by the 4-Blade Cutter Being Too Thin for Its Square Shaft. The Result Is Metal Residue That Forms on the Cutting Disk and Creates This "Goo." After Reading Hundreds of Comments and Conducting Research, I Created a Small Spacer That Goes Behind the 4-Blade Cutter and Raises It Above the Square Shaft, Reducing Grinding and Ensuring Blades Remain Flush with the Cutter Disk. The Main Thing Is to Avoid Over-Tightening the Screw Down Ring That Holds the Cutting Disk in Place - Instead Use Gentle Hand-Tightening and Verify You Can Turn the Main Shaft with Your Fingers Before Attaching it to the Mixer. Additionally, Since Bacteria Will Grow in This Part, Print Several Spacers and Replace Them Each Time You Grind Meat.
