Kis Bowden Extruder
thingiverse
Having experienced a broken extruder, I chose to construct a new one with a revised design, suitable for hanging from my printer's top. My creation is a fusion of elements from the acrylic extruder included in the Blue Eagle Labs Kossel Clear kit and ChiggerPepi's Thingiverse design (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:245677). The result has served me well so far, but I continue to fine-tune it for enhanced ease of use. Your feedback on its performance is highly valued, as are suggestions for improvement. You can download print-ready STL files or separate parts in a ZIP format. For details about suitable extruder versions (MK7 or MK8), refer to the RepRap wiki (http://reprap.org/wiki/Drive-gear). To print successfully, set bottom, top, and shell thicknesses to 0.5mm, layer height at 0.15mm, and infill at 30%. Be cautious not to drill all holes up to 3mm post-printing. Specifically, two holes in the barring plate should be threaded with M3 screws, while the tubing holes measure 4.2mm for compatibility with tube nuts. If using M5-threaded connectors, these holes will need drilling out to 4.5mm. The design caters to 1.75mm filament but may potentially accommodate 3mm filament if hole sizes are adjusted accordingly.
