The point was digitally recreated using a NextEngine Desktop 3D scanner as part of the Department of Defense's Legacy Resource Management project at Fort Lee Regional Curation Facility. The reference to this scan comes from Means, Bernard K., et al.'s work on the Virtual Mobility Archaeology Project, which utilized three-dimensional digital scanning of archaeological objects for further applications in archaeology. This project was commissioned by the Department of Defense Legacy Resource Management Program under Legacy Project #13-334 and carried out by the Virtual Curation Laboratory at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.
