Kirby Fume Extractor XXL 20cm Fan
thingiverse
I stumbled on the Kirby Fume extractor and immediately went scrounging for any case fans I might have lying around. What I found was a 20cm Thermaltake 2030. I knew I was going to have to try to get that into the Kirby shell somehow. \ This is the result. It is designed to be printed lying down on at least a 235x235 print surface. You could print it standing up and arrange it diagonally to fit on a slightly smaller build plate. It should fit most 20cm case fans, but you might want to do some measurements of the fan you are planning to use just to be sure. It is a long print job that uses a lot of material. I don't know how effective this is at actually sucking up all of the noxious fumes that it is meant to. I mostly just did this for fun. Please don't use this as a substitute for good ventilation and other safety measures when working with hazardous materials. I am using an activated carbon filter set behind the fan. I will be designing a cage to hold the filters that will snap onto my fan body. I will add this when I am happy with it.
