Kinter MA-170 Security Cover
thingiverse
The MA-170 audio amplifier by Kinter is widely available online and is a valuable resource for various projects. Nonetheless, the chrome knobs are extremely tempting for people to manipulate! Once your project has been completed, you may need to turn it on/off or adjust the audio level, but this rarely occurs. The large knob pulls off easily, but the small knobs are more challenging and that still doesn't prevent curious little fingers. This cover prints in ABS or PLA. Remove the large knob first. You can remove either 2 or 4 of the front panel screws, place the new cover, then replace with #4 screws that are 0.5" or 0.75" long. If you prefer to leave the original screws in place, a few drops of GEL-style instant set (CA) glue work well too. There is a 4 mm access hole for pressing the power switch and a 6 mm hole allowing a small flat blade screwdriver to push into the slotted shaft and adjust audio power settings. OpenSCAD file is included if you want to eliminate these holes. Print Settings Printer: MendelMax Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Infill: 15% Notes: Prints in PLA or ABS. Layer height and resolution are not critical factors. 40 grams of ABS (5 m of 3mm filament) is sufficient. SCAD files are included for your editing pleasure. In ABS, warping can be an issue, so use at least 8 mm brim to keep the corners flat. The bottom edge of the corner may break off, but this is not crucial to installation or function. Post-Printing Mount with glue, or replace at least two of the panel screws with #4 x 0.75" screws. The little metric screws originally used are too short.
