After multiple attempts I was unable to achieve the same outcome as in Daniel Muirhead's example. For some unknown reason Sketchfab isn't processing the texture correctly. It appears that it's only displaying the shaded model (colored faces) instead of the proper texture. In order to get around this issue, I tried another format (.dae), which required some tinkering with the settings in Sketchfab. Fortunately, at least the result looks decent enough.
