Kings Coaster Remix (Plate border added with multicolor print optimized)
thingiverse
This is a remix from user darkstarinc, and I'm grateful for their work! I decided to add a white baseplate to give it a fresh look and optimize the print settings for multicolor printing instead of painting it afterwards. To make this happen, I used Tinkercad to edit the design and Cura to slice it perfectly. Once sliced, you need to switch to layer view in Cura and find out which layer you want to swap the colors on. Add a pause at that layer by going to the Cura menu (YouTube has a helpful video on this if you're unsure), then print it while swapping filaments at the pause point. My pause was at layer 11, with a layer height of about .16 inches. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! The print took around three hours with the pause included, but I'm sure it can be done faster without sacrificing too much quality. As for now, I chose not to include a container to hold the coasters, but that might make a great future project!
