Keyblade. A life-size replica of the iconic keyblade from Kingdom Hearts, designed specifically for print on a 140 x 140 bed. Perfect for hobbyists with access to high-end printers. To see the results of my son's remarkable work, please visit our YouTube channel: http://youtu.be/1B0VkVHn4_s **Assembly Instructions** Step 1: Building the Keyblade First, gather a 500mm length of 42mm drainpipe from your local DIY store. For those in the USA with access to 1-3/4" OD x 1-5/8" ID pipe, please use the corresponding blade parts. You'll need: * keyblade_blade_base_usa.stl * keyblade_blade_a_usa.stl * keyblade_blade_b_usa.stl * keyblade_blade_c_usa.stl * keyblade_blade_d_usa.stl * keyblade_blade_e_usa.stl If not, print the standard blade parts: * keyblade_blade_base.stl * keyblade_blade_a.stl * keyblade_blade_b.stl * keyblade_blade_c.stl * keyblade_blade_d.stl * keyblade_blade_e.stl Next, print one set of the following parts except for: * keyblade_handle_a - 2 sets * keyblade_handle_e - 2 sets * chain_link2 - 3 sets * chain_link - 12 sets **Step 2: Assembly** Using small lengths of 1.75mm filament as guides, glue the hilt and handle together. The peg serves as a locating tool to fix the keyblade_blade_base in place. If your printer has a 3mm filament, consider drilling out the indexing holes for a tighter fit. Now, attach the keyblade_blade_d tube into the assembled base and the 500mm tube. Then, glue the hilt onto the other side of the tube, using lengths of 2mm or 3mm filament to secure it in place. Assemble the chain link by gluing the remaining parts together through the base of the clasp_body, creating a circular link. Next, link and glue the mickey medallion into place when attaching the final link. Finally, use car body filler to fill any gaps, sand down the surface, and paint your Keyblade for an authentic look. To give it a leather appearance, add some fabric-looking tape to the handle.
