Kingdom Death Monster Survivor Board with LED
thingiverse
Update: Split Variant Added This is My Survivor Board, a brand new addition to the gear grid that I created earlier, found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2812293). It implements slots for a DinA5 sheet, a pen or pencil, a monster controller card, and spaces for up to six cards (FA, disorders, or any other type you like). It also features magnet holes that match the ones on the gear grid. Additionally, it has installed LEDs to indicate the usage of survival actions. The shield acts as a push lever to light each LED individually. If only Encourage and Dodge are available, you can simply light those two LEDs. If you use a SA during a round, just switch it off to show that it's been used. The 4 AA batteries should last at least 50 hours or more. The icons on the shield represent survival actions from the base game (except Endure, which isn't really necessary) but can be replaced with different ones (like those for the people of the sun lantern, not created yet!). It's a tight fit, so symbols won't fall out accidentally. I adapted these symbols from Croquetilla Croque @ https://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/157961/survival-action-tokens-15. I tried to get in touch with him, but he hasn't responded yet. If that's a problem, let me know. For a complete assembly, you'll need additional components since it includes electronics, but soldering is relatively easy. 16x Yellow 3mm LEDs around 2.2V are needed (example: https://www.amazon.com/Waycreat-750PCS-Emitting-Diffused-Resistor/dp/B06XVL55CY/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1521057575&sr=8-1-spons&keywords=3mm+leds&psc=1). 16x 40 - 47 Ohm resistors are also required (example: https://www.amazon.com/Elegoo-Values-Resistor-Assortment-Ohm-1M/dp/B072BL2VX1/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=industrial&ie=UTF8&qid=1521057726&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=47+ohm+resistor&psc=1). 20x Micro Switch Lever 9mmx4mmx6mm are needed (like these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O9YOEDC/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). A bunch of battery contacts are also required (https://www.ebay.com/itm/10-50-100-Paar-Batterie-Kontakt-Batteriefeder-Metall-Silber-fur-AA-AAA-Batterien/311977427896?hash=item48a34dc3b8:m:mz1AAHhbxzj0wZlJkwsxLqQ). A wiring schematic is included in the files. You'll also need wires, AA batteries, a soldering iron, and patience to assemble this board. For those who just want to print and don't want to do any soldering, I created a board with sliders that won't require electronics or additional work. However, it's not as awesome. Enjoy! P.S.: I didn't get around to painting it yet (ran out of primer) but think it will look quite nice. Also, don't mind my sloppy soldering – I just learned it by doing.
