Kingdom Death: Monster - Slimline Gear Grid for Small Build Plates
thingiverse
This is a "gear grid" for the hobby game Monster (by Kingdom Death).\nThe gear grid holds nine "gear" cards in its four cells and sits on a table in front of a player.\nA flat, card stock gear grid ships with the game, but it has a problem - cards can shift during play.\nThe solution to this problem is a slimline 3D grid that can be built on machines with smaller build plates. Post-Printing On my Flashforge Creator Pro, I can build one of these in about an hour and 15 minutes.\nIf I build without a base, I can shave about 20 minutes off of that, but the hit I take on general stability and "neatness" is pretty severe, given the overall tininess of the design.\nThe grid is built in three pieces: two "stem" pieces and a trunk. Each "stem" is connected to the "trunk" at the triangular junction pieces. How I Designed This I was inspired to make this thing by Fddlstyx's gear grid, though I did not start my design with any components of that thing.\nI went through three major design variations before settling on my final design.
