King Song S22 Trolley Handle Extender
thingiverse
A trolley handle extension for the King Song S22, comes in two versions, one that extends the trolley handle by 7cm and one that extends it by 5cm. You will need to use 4x M3x16mm Philips screws for the upper part of the extension which screws into the handle, you can use the original screws (M3x10mm Countersunk Philips screws) from the trolley handle on the lower part that goes into the rails, if you don't use the original 10mm screws for any reason there might the different tolerances and the trolley handle might not go all the way down, this is not a big deal just something to be aware of. Material: This part needs to be printed in a rigid material, I am not sure if PLA would be sufficiently strong for this application it might break so I did not want to risk it and printed mine in HTPLA (3D870). Print Settings and Post Processing: Important: You want to use 100% infill as this part needs to be solid. Important: This part has a support structure in a tricky place where you install the trolley handle, this is a cavity which is not optimal so you need to adjust your support settings so that they are easy to get out of there, I print with Cura and I recommend the following support settings which are easy to remove despite being inside a cavity: Pattern: Grid Density: 20% Support Z Distance: Same as layer height Completely disable support interface (roof+floor) Use something long and rigid to carefully remove the support, I have a long tool used for hobby modelling with one sharp and one dull end which is perfect for this job, with the right tool the support should come out pretty easily, afterwards you will most likely need to use a long sharp tool to get rid of uneven bits inside. Try pushing the trolley handle inside gently, if there is a lot of resistance don't force it or the whole thing will likely crack, instead keep removing bits of material until the trolley handle goes in there without too much resistance. You might also have to clean up uneven pieces from the lower part that goes into the trolley rails so that it fits into the rails without too much force. After making sure the extension fits neatly with the trolley handle and the rails but before you install anything pre-screw all the screws into the holes on the extensions so that can be screwed in and out without too much resistance, again you might have to clean some debris from the extensions after screwing the screws in there for the first time. Making the trolley handle easier/harder to pull out and/or making it stay in place: This is not directly related to these extenders but if you want to make the trolley handle easier or harder to pull out you can adjust the topmost screws that hold the front bumper, these also directly pushes onto the trolley mechanism adding resistance, it's a good idea to not have the trolley handle too loose so that it doesn't go up by accident for instance if the wheel falls, experiment by finding your sweetspot.
