2024-01-24: After using these all winter now I have some experience to share, the top ones have has worked well and done their job and not come off, the bottom ones has a tendency to get loose and fall off and eventually I just stopped using bottom protectors, I also think the bottom of the sliders is not as critical to protect as dirt coming in from the top and going down what is most critical to protect against.Felt protectors for the King Song S22 Pro Gen3 Sliders. What is a felt protector?Glad you asked Billy! In order to prevent dust and dirt particles as much as possible from coming into the slider channels of the S22 Pro the aim is to close off the beginning and the end of the sliders from particles, however you also don't want to introduce friction and degrade the performance of the the suspension movement, soft felt (like a thin sheet of wool that I am using) is perfect for this task, glued to a small piece of TPU it will create a barrier and push the dirt out without introducing friction.Small dirt and dust in the channels does it even matter? In my opinion yes, all type of dirt particles entering the sliders will over time wear down both the wheels and the paint inside the channels and degrade suspension performance eventually, protecting the sliders with something will prolong the life of them and keep them working in optimal condition. What are "Gen3 Sliders"?King Song has designed and produced 3 different versions of the Pro sliders, wheels being currently marketed and sold as "Pro V2" includes the new GF motor and these new 3rd generation sliders, some stores even market these sliders as "Pro V2 Sliders".What are special about the 3rd generation of sliders and how to identify them? The third generation of sliders has 4 small supportive wheels on the side that prevent side movement, those tiny wheels are mounted with a small circlip. In some spots 3 wheels point in the same direction (front bottom and rear top on each side), these spots are generally are under more stress. The wheels themselves has a more pointed profile, I am not sure if the material is POM or Nylon. The sliders are marked with L F (Left-Front), L B (Left-Back), R F (Right-Front) and R B (Right-Back) respectively, making it clear in what position they should be installed.Printing Instructions:Print in TPU95A, it's always good to have some flex on parts like this and not making them too rigid.Walls/Perimeters: 2Infill: 25% GridSupport: YesAssembly instructions:You need a thin sheet of felt (like wool) that you can buy in any textile store and you also need a strong glue. For the glue I wanted something that was strong, easy to apply to a small part and also fast curing so I went with Loctite Super Glue Precision which fulfills all those points and works excellent for this application. For all the steps I assume that you have clean sliders, if not clean/de-grease the ends of the sliders first so that glue will stick.Cut small squares of the felt sheet, glue these to the TPU pieces and let them cure for a bitWith the square felt attached to the TPU piece cut the felt around in a similar shape of the TPU piece as pictured in the photos, don't cut them too close you actually want some excess felt between the TPU and the channel and it doesn't matter if the felt folds a bit in there.Glue the finished TPU piece with felt on it to the sliders as pictured in the photoAt this point if your sliders are not already mounted on the motor you can try manually inserting the sliders into the channels to see how it all fits, at first it can seem like there's some resistance, just work it with hand and it will go in and move smoothly. Now the sliders are ready for installation, take care when sliding the motor assembly into the battery boxes so that the protectors don't come off, ask a friend for help holding the battery boxes still if needed.
