Here is my entry for the "Design Your Avatar Contest". I'm a casual gamer who's spent hundreds of hours playing games on Steam - over 600, to be exact! However, only a handful have captured my attention long-term. ARK has been my go-to game, and that's why I chose it as the inspiration for my avatar design. ARK is an action-packed survival game where you must fight against treacherous weather conditions, hunger, and ferocious prehistoric wildlife. But that's not all - you can also tame dinosaurs in this vast world! It's a game that offers countless hours of gameplay, with new discoveries waiting around every corner. Here's my take on myself as the fearless Tyrannosaurus Rex "KING". This majestic creature has been my trusted companion throughout my gaming adventures. With its powerful pose, we're both looking directly at you - our bond is unbreakable! To give my avatar a friendly and cartoon-like appearance, I designed it with a comic-style sculpture in mind. As this was my first foray into 3D modeling, I'm thrilled that you like it! I aimed to create as many colorful details as possible to make it a true multicolored masterpiece. It took me about 50 hours of meticulous design work to perfect the model and ensure it would print flawlessly. The parts are carefully aligned to minimize support material usage, making it ideal for printing. To bring this design to life, I used PLA settings with an extruder temperature of 220°C, a heatbed temperature of 55°C, a layer height of 200 microns, 20% infill, and a print speed of 60mm/s. These specifications will result in a beautifully printed Tyrannosaurus Rex that's sure to impress. Here are the materials and special settings I used for each part: * Stonering: Das Filament PLA (light grey) * Woodplate: Das Filament PLA (brown) * Crystal_blue: FormFutura HD Glass (blue transparent) * Crystal_red: 3D Prima PLA (red transparent) * Crystal_green: Das Filament PLA (green transparent) * Logo_left and logo_right: FormFutura PLA (silver) * Rex_body, rex_head, rex_tail: eSun PLA (pine green) * Rex_tongue: eSun PLA (pink) * Rex_right_eye, rex_left_eye, rex_teeth_top, rex_teeth_bottom: eSun PLA (white) * Saddle: SIENOC PLA (brown) * Belt_back, belt_front, rein, rein_pin_long, rein_pin_end: SIENOC PLA (brown) * Belt_pin: SIENOC PLA (brown), printed 4 times * Arm_left, arm_right, head: Polaroid PLA (skin), printed on a raft * Beard: Das Filament PLA (brown), printed 4 pieces on a raft due to its small size (100 micron) * Shirt: ColorFabb Economy PLA (black), printed on a raft * Jeans: ColorFabb nGen (dark blue) * Shoe_left, shoe_right: eSun PLA (white) * Pin_short and pin_long: any material and color will do, printed 4 times each To add an extra touch of magic to the crystals, you'll need three white 5mm LED lights, some thin cable, a female connector, and a suitable power adapter. I used a universal one with a 3-volt setting, so no resistor is needed. Printing time is approximately 25 hours, using about 360 grams of material.
