KING KONG 1933 armature and skin

thingiverse

This is a replica from the delgado long face king kong produced by the RKO in 1933. The armature used during production accounts for 80% of the sequences and is linked to the "roundface" head. The original sold at a christies auction in 2009. Files will include: the armature to print in 3D PLA, skin parts for printing in flexible filament. As of October 2018, the skull is complete and has been added; the head skin is sculpted and ready for photogrammetry. Articulations are functional and will be set at optimal size. A closer look reveals intricate details: every scratch and hole serves a purpose. Printing revealed that holes animate the eyes, lips, eyebrows. Each scratch holds a function. Update November 8th: Legs and arms are complete; hands are now available. Right hand and left hand have also been completed. November 7 update: The spine vertebra "KKvertebra-5x" must be printed five times to achieve the desired result. KKarmsandlegs should be printed twice with supports, but note that the legs will be shorter than expected. Some users may encounter issues with the cura engine; try using Slic3r3D for a better rendering of curved surfaces. KKelement-spine can be printed once (compatible with all slicers). "KKhips" and "kk shoulders" can also be printed once each (all slicers compatible). "Kk mollets" should be printed four times, but the English name is unclear - these parts are located above the feet, beneath the legs.
