Kinetic Art Wind Sculpture
thingiverse
I was inspired to create this after watching a YouTube video of Clayton Boyer's mesmerizing Zinnia Kinetic Sculpture, which can be found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--O9eyKIubY&frags=pl%2Cwn. Be sure to check it out; it's truly awesome. While his sculpture is spring powered, mine relies on wind power. You can see my version in action here: https://youtu.be/xB2B3m5SPDA. The center turbine mandala of this kinetic art piece measures approximately 524mm in diameter and has been dubbed mini_3. Initially, I had no intention of creating a joke; instead, I was planning to build an even larger version that would require printing sections on my massive 2' x 2' x 2' printer and assembling them with bolts. However, this "mini" version is compact enough to print in one piece. I'm excited to continue exploring the realm of kinetic art wind turbines and plan to create more pieces like this one.
