Kinect Neck Support
thingiverse
To enhance my XBox 360 Kinect's rigidity for 3D scanning, I designed a small ring that snaps onto the support arm. This brace secures the sensor against the top of the base, ensuring stability while still being easily removable for future motor usage. The model was made in Vectorworks 2013 and prototyped with Makerware on a Makerbot Replicator 2. The final version was printed in black PLA with a layer height of 0.20mm, an infill of 10%, and one shell using a custom profile for accurate filament diameter. Simply slide the ring onto the Kinect neck from the side; it features a flat top and a hollowed bottom to fit around the ball joint at the base of the neck.
