Kinect 360 support base for tripods (1/4 20UNC)
thingiverse
This is a support base for the Kinect 360, designed to adapt it seamlessly to any tripod mount. To prepare it for use, you'll need to tap a thread into the center hole after printing. The best method is to utilize a tap tool; however, if one is not available, you can accomplish this by slowly and carefully screwing and unscrewing your tripod mount into the hole. It's essential to ensure that your screw remains ALWAYS PERPENDICULAR to the hole throughout the process. You should screw in a bit, then screw it out, repeating this action until a thread is established within the hole. The support base clicks securely into the Kinect without requiring any screws, and it can easily hold the Kinect upside down with no issues. Its design ensures that the mount stays firmly attached to the Kinect even when not secured on a tripod. Additionally, the bottom of the support base is flat, allowing the Kinect to stand stably on a table or any other flat surface when the mount is in place. I've intentionally designed this support base to minimize material usage and printing time while maintaining its structural integrity, which is why I included all the holes. To ensure optimal performance, it's recommended that you print the support base with the flat part facing down using PLA at 100% infill. This will guarantee that the hooks are strong enough to click in and out without breaking.
