I usually read music for brass instruments I play from a TFT screen tablet. I discovered that when performing in direct sunlight, the music was a bit difficult to see. I thought that if I was able to hold my refurb Kindle 5 with E-ink display close enough to my eyes to see a full page of music on the display, it might make reading music outdoors much easier. I frequently have to use reading glasses anyway, and with the Kindle held by the lyre adapter, I just need to be sure the readers I use provide the correct magnification. This is a cradle or holder designed to fit a Kindle 5 that provides a mount for the type of instrument lyre that is commonly used for marching bands, and which comes in an assortment of shapes and sizes to fit various marching band instruments. Although the included design is made for the Kindle 5, it should be customizable for other E-ink display models. The main requirement for the print is to use a mostly rigid flexible filament such as the black TPU flex filament from Pxmalion. I've included one version of the model in the downloadable printer files that features tree supports that allowed me to print my working version. The supports are minimal because they must be trimmed away rather than pulled away after printing. Print Settings Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: Creator Pro Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: .3 - .4 mm Infill: 100% Filament: PXMalion TPU Rigid Flexible Any Color (mine is black) Notes: The included tree-support version allowed the model to be printed upright at 90○ from position of normal use. High infill is needed because the walls are fairly thin for quicker printing and strength. Brim is needed to increase area of contact with the printer bed. Category: Music
