<p>Pretty simple design. Just slide your kindle in from the bottom. The kindle stays firmly in-place with friction, and needs a fair amount of effort to remove.</p><p>The goal is twofold:</p><p>Firstly, make the Kindle easier to hold with one hand while lying down. The smooth round corners, small bezels, and thinness of the Kindle look nice, and are great for when you're using the device sitting upright, but when lying down make it much harder and less comfortable to grip the device. This case adds thicker bezels so you have more to hold onto when lying down.</p><p>Secondly, some people (like myself) prefer having their bed against a wall, and leaning their device against the wall so they aren't holding their hand up. However, doing that with an unprotected Kindle will leave scratches and marks on the corners of the device, which look ugly and reduce resale value.</p>
