(Kinda) Universal Bottle Cap
thingiverse
A few weeks ago, I stumbled upon a printed bottle cap at a festival that looked just like this one. I thought, "That's cool, I'll find the STL and print tons of them." But every single one I could find online was overpriced and didn't have an STL file available. At that point, I decided to learn some basics in Fusion 360 and make them myself. How hard could it be? As it turned out, pretty darn hard. After a few nights fueled by alcohol, I managed to put this thing together just in time for the Lowlands festival. Make no mistake, this is not perfect. But considering it was my first project with Fusion, I'd say it's okay. This design consists of two caps fused together with a ring attached. The two caps are POCO 1881 (most soda bottles) and the thread used by Chaudfontaine (also SPA and most other water brands). The last one was extremely difficult to model. It's not really "universal," but it should fit around most bottles you'll encounter at raves. Keep in mind that it's not watertight, so it will prevent spills but leak if held upside down long enough. Just attach it to your belt or bag using the ring and you should be fine. If you want it watertight, print it with ABS and smooth it with acetone – that should do the trick. The first few times, you'll have to force it on a bit; I had to use my Ender 3, but after that, it slides on easily. You'll need to turn the object upside down in your slicer because I couldn't figure out how to rotate an object in Fusion. PS: Remember to stay hydrated, and when dancing with molly also remember not to drink too much!
