Kimwipes Box Dispenser for 1" Wire Shelf Upright
thingiverse
If you've ever worked or set foot in a lab, you know Kimwipes. They're the "Kleenex of chemistry" and a ubiquitous presence in every lab everywhere. They're also perfect around the 3D printer for bed cleaning and other tasks. I designed this box mainly to experiment with several new design elements, including tabs & slots; inset features (the clip) held on w/ self-tapping screws; and interlocking surfaces. And to hold my Kimwipes on the upright of my wire shelving using a modular clip system I'm experimenting with. I use the same 1.5" x 2.5" x 1/16" clip platform, either glued or mounted with two #2 x 1/4" self-tapping (sheet metal) screws on several accessories, including a wash bottle holder and flush cutter/tool holder. The box consists of a three-sided main box and an L-shaped lid which locates on the box with two small tabs and an interlocking lip. You could probably glue the clip into the recess, but not much, except epoxy sticks to PLA, and two tiny (#2) self-tapping screws work perfectly fine. This is only version 1, and there are a few things I'll change in the next iteration (like the fact that this solid version uses a **ridiculous** amount of plastic; I need to cut out all the unnecessary surfaces and make the final version a lattice). There are certainly more elegant Kimwipe holders out there, but this serves its intended purpose allowing me to play with different design elements.
