This enigmatic sheela stands proudly on a secluded estate, its accessibility limited to private visitors only. Rumors suggest it might once have been part of Kiltinan Church, where another prized sheela was tragically stolen in the 1990s. This petite yet intricately carved figure is exquisitely rendered in high relief on a solid slab with an arched base that hints at its possible connection to a door or window. The well-sculpted head boasts a stern facial expression, complemented by several lines etched across the forehead and side of the head, while deep-set eyes seem to pierce through the air. A nonexistent neck gives way to a slender torso adorned with small breasts and deeply incised ribs. A distinctive oval-shaped pudenda is flanked by widely splayed legs that taper into stone. One of the rare sheelas featuring both arms raised aloft, this enigmatic figure grasps an object in each hand – one unmistakably resembling a horseshoe with clear nail markings, the other more elusive but possibly tied to horse show themes. These symbols have been used in ancient evil eye symbolism, adding depth and intrigue to the mysterious context of this sheela.
