Killflash and sun shield for NcStar 3-12x56E

This is an advanced lens protector, killflash and sunvisor design tailored specifically for my NcStar 3-12x56E. The innovative killflash insert seamlessly integrates into the sunshield from behind before being secured on the scope. The v5 "outsert" and the 8mm tall insert are highly recommended for printing, as they offer superior performance in eliminating scope glare compared to other models. The other inserts may have a higher likelihood of coming loose if not properly glued into the sun shield, while some models will require post-processing adjustments to fit the scope perfectly. The 8mm tall insert stands out due to its comprehensive honeycomb structure throughout the entire height of the model, featuring 4mm holes with .48mm walls. I may consider revising this dimension to .5mm in future revisions, given that certain slicers might struggle with printing such thin walls using a .4mm nozzle. In contrast, older honeycombs have larger holes measuring 5.9mm to allow maximum light transmission while potentially stopping airsoft BB's, accompanied by .8mm walls between them. The square grid pattern offers clear views but may exhibit defects if retraction settings are not optimized. Holes in this design measure 3mm with a .4mm wall separating them, resulting in faster print times and improved effectiveness as a killflash. I plan to revisit or add another honeycomb pattern later on. This design features interchangeable inserts to enable replacement if broken, facilitate design modifications, and avoid printing with supports, particularly since it's primarily intended for airsoft use. The v2 "outsert" demands precise tolerances, so test a small portion of the print beforehand to ensure compatibility. The v4 boasts slightly looser tolerances alongside cosmetic changes. Lastly, the recommended version is the v5, which incorporates an opening for a nut and screw with loosest tolerances. This design accepts a 4mm nut and hex screw to provide a snug fit. Given its 56mm aperture, this scope should be mounted as close to the bore as possible, making the added height of the nut and bolt unnecessary.
