The Coney Island Scan-A-Rama is a modern 21st century portrait studio that utilizes the latest technology, such as ReconstructMe and an Xbox Kinect, for scanning at events like Danbury MakerFaire. The public debut of this innovative scanning rig, known as the Scan-O-Tron 3000, took place on June 8, 2013, and produced stunning results. In the near future, a Kickstarter campaign will be launched for Scan-A-Rama, with plans to open source the project. When printing, it is suggested to use a layer height of .27 or .1 mm without support structures, as minimal trimming may be required for perfect results.
