Kids go wild for playing toy grocer's shop. Next, they need a toy scale. It's a fantastic game that offers kids a wonderful opportunity to gain hands-on experience in simple physics. This scale is impressively precise down to a few grams, unlike most toys on the market. The pivot points are equipped with small ball bearings (ZZ685 5x11x5) and the arm is constructed like a parallelogram, keeping the 'bowls' perfectly straight. My build was completed on a desktop CNC machine by Stepcraft using 6.5 mm beech plywood, with a spiral-toothed 1.2 mm flute. Visit https://www.zenziwerken.de/en/ for more innovative designs. Tomo Kihara took this scale design and adapted it for use as a tool on 'Street Debater', an alternative to begging. Learn more about his project here. How I Designed This I began with a rough sketch... Next, I refined the drawing using Solid Edge 2D... Then, I built a 3D model for verification of my plan. Finally, a final render helped me get a really good feel for the proportions.
