Kids Strap Ski Carrier Handles
prusaprinters
I was tired of my 6 year old struggling to carry his own skis. He needed a handle that fit his hands as it was challenging to grab all the way around the skis, or the skis would come apart as he was walking and he would drop them. Usually after a couple of times, frustration set in for both of us I would end up carrying his skis and mine. This simple solution is easy enough to use that he can put it together himself and have a free hand for whatever 6 year old's need a free hand for……all while wearing his mittens. No need to take off gloves to work velcro straps. Use instructions…as demonstrated in the photos. Place the carrier on the ground, place the skis on top of the carrier between the bindings, bring handles together and lift…..easy. I kept the handles thin so they can easily be stuffed in a pocket while your on the hill. I used old pass lanyards for the straps as I have loads of them laying around, however I'm sure there are lots of options that would fit for the straps. Cut straps to the appropriate length to fit around the skis, leaving enough room for the handles to come together at the top. I was able to sew the straps in a loop, but I'm sure a knot would work if you don't have access to a sewing machine or a needle.I Printed in PETG, but PLA might work. I used 6 walls to provide more strength, especially around the strap holes. Prints flat with no supports, brim, or raft necessary. Print two handles.
