Kids Fishing Game
thingiverse
After stumbling upon a cool looking trout design on the CNC Forum by mhackney, I've been eager to print a fishing game for my kids for quite some time. I finally had the chance to print off a whole bunch of them as well as create a simple fishing rod and lure to use with them. Both my little ones are thoroughly enjoying playing with them. Hopefully, someone else will find these useful. Print Settings Printer Brand: SeeMeCNC Printer: Rostock MAX Rafts: No Supports: No Infill: 20% Notes: Printed in PLA without any support. It should be straightforward to print. The fish are printed with zero solid top and bottom layers, and various infill patterns are used to create different types of fish. They scale well from 0.7 to 1.5 to create a variety of different sized fish. (Daddy/Mummy and brother fish according to my little boy.) The lure and rod are printed with 20% infill. Be mindful of the height of the rod, as it may be too high for some printers. It can always be cut in half and glued together. The lure has a small square hole at the bottom that will take a 3mm x 3mm x 3mm magnet. It does not need support when printed because it has an angled top. The magnet was a tight fit on mine, so I used a flat piece of metal (well, a hammer) to press it in. If it is loose on yours, please glue it in; otherwise, it will come out. You'll need a few things besides the 3D printed parts: * A 3mm x 3mm x 3mm magnet - I used Rare Earth Neodymium Magnets N35 3mm x 3mm x 3mm (search on eBay). I had a whole bunch of them left over from another project, and they work great. They can handle the weight of the fish up to 1.5 scale easily. * Metal washers for the eyes - I had some leftover from another project. Any small metal washers will probably work. If you want to get fancy, you could use different sized ones depending on the size of the fish so they look better as eyes. * Glue - I used Fast setting Epoxy glue for the eyes, and it worked well. * String - To tie the lure to the rod, a fairly short piece of string worked well for me.
