Kidney Tray

thingiverse

This is a 3D printable kidney tray, designed with the goal of providing critical equipment to Health Posts in Nepal following the devastating earthquake. The design was developed through close collaboration with numerous medical professionals in Nepal. It features a sturdy base that provides stability, paired with a smooth inner curve that facilitates effortless access to tools. This device is intended for use outside the operating theater and should be treated as a one-time, non-autoclavable item. Humanitarian Maker Julia Jenjezwa deserves special recognition for her valuable contributions to this design. Print Settings: Printer: Up! Box Rafts: Yes Supports: No Resolution: 0.25mm or less Infill: 50% or greater Notes: Designed to be printed without supports. On the UP! Box, we used PRNT3D Natural ABS filament, which exhibits superior layer-to-layer adhesion compared to UP brand ABS. However, this results in difficult support removal, but the print remains watertight. This object boasts a substantial flat base - depending on your printer's capabilities, it is advisable to pre-heat the bed or employ BuildTak or equivalent techniques to prevent warping and peeling if your bed is not heated. Post-Printing: Check Watertight: Place the item on a tray, fill with water, leave overnight, and then check for leaks.
